Unique IQ has once again added to its awards season success by being named as a finalist in two categories of the North Worcestershire Business Awards.
The Redditch software firm, which develops workforce management software for the home care, contract cleaning and facilities management sectors, has been selected for Innovation of the Year, sponsored by WINN, and Outstanding Entrepreneur of the Year, sponsored by BizSmart.
Celebrating the rising stars of North Worcestershire, the inaugural awards shine a spotlight on the region’s best businesses, with twenty making the finals.
Judges commented that the finalists reflect “an impressive range of businesses, all showcasing products and services that really stand out. They are a credit to North Worcestershire.”
Unique IQ has been recognised for its innovation in software, particularly for domiciliary care companies. Recent product developments are helping home care providers digitise how they deliver care, making them more efficient and able to give service users more person-centred care, as well as improving patient safety.
Meanwhile, Managing Director, David Lynes, who founded Unique IQ in 2003, has been nominated as one of North Worcestershire’s most outstanding entrepreneurs. Along with the company’s recent achievements, which have included securing significant investment from venture capital firm Midven as part of the Midlands Engine Investment Fund, and a resulting expansion in staff, product development and turnover, David points to his team as one of the key drivers of success for the business:
“My key piece of advice to other entrepreneurs, is anything is possible if you genuinely believe in your team. Get your recruitment and onboarding right for your company – the people who you recruit should share your ambition and believe in your company’s purpose. Align your workplace with a positive and enthusiastic workforce, as it really helps to make a difference.
“Unique IQ wouldn’t be where it is now had it not been for the driving force behind it: the people.”
Unique IQ has already made the finals of two national awards that recognise innovation in technology in the social care sector – the Leaders in Care awards, whose winners will be announced at the Care Show on 9th October, and the prestigious LaingBuisson awards.
The North Worcestershire Business Awards will be held on Thursday 28 November 2019 at Hogarths Stone Manor Hotel and hosted by BBC presenter Joanne Malin. http://www.nwbusawards.org/
